Packaging & Delivery

PACKAGING

Until recently, I used to roll the finished portrait and place it in a cardboard tube as I felt this was the most cost effective method for my clients. However, using this method, there is always a risk that the drawings or paintings could get damaged with creasing/marking. To avoid this, finished portraits should ideally be kept as flat as possible until framed.

I have since learned that it costs no more to send a drawing in a ‘clip frame’ than a tube, as both are classed as large parcels. It will cost you slightly more for the clip frame (circa £12 - A2 size) but you can be assured that your portrait will be protected and kept clean and safe - the clip frame can also be re-used once you have framed your portrait. If you don’t want to pay this extra cost, then I can still send in a tube which costs approximately £5.

DELIVERY

If you are local to me, I will of course deliver your portrait by hand in a clip frame. If you decide you do not want to keep the clip frame once you have formally framed your portrait, I will take it back and you will not be charged extra.

If not local, I will always post portraits by special delivery which generally costs around £8. Your parcel will arrive with you before 1pm the next day and will need to be signed for - this also includes £500 insurance. In total, postage and packaging should cost you no more than £25 in total (international may differ).

The best option can be discussed over the phone or by email. If you have any further questions, please do send me a message via the contact page.
